She was united in marriage to John Christian Leu on August 4, 1895 at Omaha. This union was blessed with 11 children. They moved to a farm near Wisner, Nebr. in 1902, and later to Bushnell, Nebr. in 1919. They came to Alliance in 1944, and she has lived here with her daughter at 1024 Potash until her death.
Her husband (March 1945), one son, and two daughters preceded her in death. She has always been a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two sons: William C. Leu of Lompoc California and Dick Leu of Alliance: six daughters: Miss Anne Leu of Santa Ana, California; Mrs. Brooks Van Pelt of Englewood, Colorado; Miss Elsie Leu of Alliance; Mrs. Ida Winters of Bartlett, Nebraska; Mrs. Clara Kline of Alliance; and Mrs. Olga Bowman of Alliance; and by 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Emma Leu was called out of this vale of tears to her eternal res on July 30, 1962 at her home at the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 24 days. Her mortal remains will be interred at the Alliance Cemetery.

Karl, Emma, and Alma emigrated to the United States in March 1893 on the ship Stuttgart from Bremen to Baltimore. They came to Scribner, Nebraska where John Gerhard Teebken (memorial 11083737), her mother's brother, looked after them. Emil came in late 1911. Gertrude Teebken Paradies is in findagrave at 76076867 and she also provides a link to the Teebken branch of the family.
