Johann Georg Henkel was born in Kolb, Russia. He was the son of Johann Heinrich Henkel and Catharina Elisabeth Wilhelm. George married Maria Catharina Koch 26 Dec 1892 in Kolb. In 1904, George immigrated with his wife and young daughter to America, arriving first in Quebec on the SS Lake Megantic and then traveling to Tacoma, Washington. Six known children were born to this marriage: Maria (1894-1895), Charlotte, Maria, Friedrich, Mary, and Lydia Henkel. He was retired from St. Paul & Tacoma Lumber Company.

Note: Surname was changed from Henkel to Hankall.
