Suggested edit: DEATH COMES TO WELL KNOWN WELSH COMPOSER

Gomer Thomas, the well known composer and musical director, of Danville [Pa.], died suddenly Monday evening [October 12, 1903]. The news of his death proves a great surprise to his friends, as he was well known in this region in musical circles. Years ago he conducted the production of "Queen Esther."
Gomer Thomas was born in Pottsville [Pa.] fifty-eight years ago. He lived nearly his entire life in Danville. He was the brother-in-law of Dr. [Joseph] Parry, the celebrated composer of Wales [who died earlier this year on February 17, 1903], and [Gomer] was himself a composer of ability.
His demise leaves a vacancy in Danville which may not soon be filled. The deceased is survived by his wife [Leah (Williams) Thomas], and one son, Edward P. Thomas, who holds a position in Cleveland [Ohio].
