Mrs. Norine Brown Odom, age 86, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 7, 1999 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.

Mrs. Odom was born on Wednesday, March 26, 1913, in Towns County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Rob Brown and Lou Cindy Foster Brown. She was a homemaker and was the widow of the late Thurman Odom. Mrs. Odom was a lifelong resident of our area, and was a member of Confidence Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Margie Hughes, of Blairsville; sister, Christine Odom, of Blairsville; 3 grandchildren: Sandra Mann, of Cleveland, TN; Kenny Hughes and Melissa Taylor, both of Blairsville; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great grand child.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 9, 1999 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Buchanan and Rev. Jarvis Bennett officiating. Special music was presented by the Faith Singers. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers; Earl Odom, Rex Odom, Ed Rohbaugh, Greg Odom, Steve Odom and Ronnie Byers. Interment was in Confidence Methodist Church Cemetery.
