Died: November 17, 1982 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, US at Age 65. John is survived by his wife, Adamit Haselmyer- Martinez Davis and their two daughters, Camille and Diana. Considered by his daughter, Diana, as "my best friend". He is still missed very much.
Johnny played in the Minor Leagues from 1940 - 1954; his career ended due to an injury. He is a part of the Negro League Baseball Hall of Fame museum in Cooperstown, NY where pictures can be seen. He played with the Newark Eagles in the Negro National League from 1940 - 1949, Drummondville Cubs in the Provincial League in 1951, San Diego Padres in the Pacific Coast League in 1952, Fort Lauderdale Lions in the Florida International League in 1953, Montgomery Rebels in the South Atlantic League in 1954.
