Heinrich Philipp Görg was born in Nieder (Lower) Florstadt which is located about 30 km Northeast of Frankfort, Germany. The English translation of Görg is “Goerg”

Heinrich received approval from the German Government to sail from Friedberg, Germany to “Nord Amerika” on November 6, 1885. On the listing, Germans to America, 1875-1888, H. Goerg, a Stone Cutter, is listed as ID #38454 on the manifest of the ship, Polynesia, sailing from Hesse, and arriving in the US on November 30, 1885.

On October 30, 1887, Herr Heinrich Philipp Görg married Frauline Anna Pfeiffer in a German Church in New York City. The two witnesses to the wedding were Friedrich Lux (Cousin of the Groom) and Friedrich Curth (Cousin of the Bride). The name of Freidrich Curth was later anglicized to Frederick Kurth.

Heinrich and Anna had two children, Henry Conrad (1888-1917) and Oscar (1894-1951).

During his lifetime, Heinrich (name later anglicized to Henry) worked as a Stone Cutter & Plasterer in Germany, and a Stone Mason and Street Paver in New York City. Sometime between 1900 and 1905, he became a street paving contractor in New York City.

In the 1900 US Census, Henry P. Goerg, his wife Anna, and his two sons Henry C. and Oscar are listed as living at 576 Central Avenue in Brooklyn, Ward 28, Kings County, New York.

Based on Ellis Island, New York immigration records, it is known that Henry traveled at least twice from America to Germany with his wife and two sons; in 1897 and 1907; and a 3rd time with his two sons only in 1909 . The family is listed as "2nd Cabin" passengers on the Manifest of the ship Southwark, sailing from Antwerp, Belgium, and arriving in New York City on March 25, 1897, and listed on the Manifest of the Kronprinz Wilhelm, sailing from Bremen, Germany, and arriving in New York City on April 18, 1907.

In the 1905 New York State Census; Henry, his wife “Annie and sons Henry and Oscar are listed as living at 1288 Hancock Street in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.

Henry P. "Georg", and his sons; Henry, age 21 and Oscar, age 14 are listed on the Manifest of the Kronprinz Wilhelm, sailing from Bremen, Germany, and arriving in New York City on September 28, 1909.

In the 1910 US Census, Henry P. George, his wife, two sons, and a sister Helena were listed as living in Queens County, New York City.

Henry’s son, Henry Conrad, died of unknown causes in April 1917. On July 6, 1917 his grieving father also died.
