Negro League baseball player 1945-1948. Outfielder for the New York Black Yankees, Baltimore Elite Giants and the Homestead Grays. In 1949, he became the first black player to sign with the New York Yankees. From 1951-1954, he played for the Boston Braves, Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was the 3rd Puerto Rican player to play in Major League Baseball.
