Major League Baseball Player. For six seasons (1947 to 1951 and 1953), he was a pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals. Born Edward Lorenz Sebastian Erautt, he attended Lincoln High School in Oregon. Following service with the United States Army during World War II, he went onto have a successful period in the Pacific Coast League and yielded an astonishing 234 strike outs in 1946. He marked his Major League debut with Cincinnati on April 16, 1947 and pitched in 36 games that year. In 1949, he yielded a career best 3.36 ERA in 39 games pitched, as he split time between the Reds' bullpen and starting rotation. In 164 regular season games, he compiled a 15 win 23 loss record with a 4.86 lifetime ERA in 379 innings pitched. Following his baseball career, he worked for a church. His older brother Joe Erautt was a former Major League catcher with the Chicago White Sox.
