He played outfield and was a pinch hitter for the New York Yankees and the Kansas City As, playing in 52 games. He had 18 hits and 92 at-bats, with a .196 batting average. After two eye surgeries, he retired from baseball at the end of the 1959 season.
He was inducted into the Greenwich High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2013, where he was a successful athlete in football and baseball as a teen.
At 83, he suffered a stroke and died from injuries received from a fall.
