Barbara Lorraine Klingaman, 68, of Winterset, died from cancer March 5, 1997 at her home. Funeral services were Saturday,March 8, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Pastor Jon Paul officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born July 2, 1928, in Amana to William J. and Jenny (Hergert) Graichen. She married Irvin Klingaman Aug. 30, 1953 in Winterset. She had taught in the Winterset School District and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Winterset High School Alumni Asso., Iowa State Education Assoc., Winterset Women's Club, Amana Heritage Society, The Iowa Poetry Assoc., Farm Bureau, TOPS #721 of Winterset, Madison County Historical Society, University of Northern Iowa Alumni Asso., First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Mass.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Surviving relatives include one son, Kenneth Irvin Klingaman of Winterset; one daughter, Mary Ellen Klingaman of Winterset; one brother, James Graichen of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Jane Haughenbury of Cedar Rapids; and four step-grandchildren.
