He is the son of Helen Viehweg of 225 North Long Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, and he enlisted with the Army in Chicago on 7-26-1966.

Awards: Silver Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, National Defense Service Medal, Military Merit Medal.
