Major League Baseball Player. He began his career as a shortstop and outfielder with the 1915 Philadelphia Athletics. He also pitched for the team in the next two seasons with a 7-21 record taking a primarily pitching role in 1919. In 1928, been acquired by the Chicago Cubs, he was traded to the Boston Braves with several other players for Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby. Now a pitcher, he went 41-64 until 1933
