Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church for Peter Ekler, a furniture refinisher. Burial was in Mount Olivet.

Ekler, 81, of 3842 Osceola St., died Saturday at Lutheran Medical Center. He was born Aug. 27, 1895 in Russia and came to Denver from Kansas City, Kan., in 1926.

He operated Peter Ekler Furniture Refinishing. He was an usher at Presentation Roman Catholic Church and a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society and Holy Name Society. He was a charter member and officer of the Presentation Credit Union.

Ekler married Pauline Bersch in 1919, in Kansas City.

Survivors include, his widow; a son, Robert, Denver; four daughters, Mrs. Rose Marie Nelson, San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Pauline Frank, Denver, Sister Mary Del Ray, Joplin, Mo., and Sister Mary Sharon, Broomfield; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
