Another Obit I found in Grandma's papers. This was dictated by Aunt Cat and may have been to Mrs. Gerald (Ethel) Foshee as she had a similar obit in the newspaper- Weona News of Marked Tree Tribune.

Illness claims Alberta Woods

Mrs. Alberta Virginia Woods, a native of Kingsport Tenn. and former resident of Paducah, KY died 8:40 Sunday night, April 28th 1963, three hours and twenty minutes before her ninety-first birthday, Monday, April 24th.

Death came to her at the Crittenden County Memorial Hospital in West Memphis, Ark where she had been a patient since Wednesday, April 24th.

Before entering hospital, Mamma had been a patient in the West Memphis Nursing Home, from Sat. March 9 until April 24th. Easter Sunday she was able to answer our questions, which was April 14th.

On Wednesday afternoon, April 24th, Mamma went into a coma and couldn't take any more nourishment before leaving the nursing home. On arrival at the hospital, they tried to feed her through the veins, but they collapsed, which made it impossible. During the 4 1/2 days spent in the hospital, she was in the hospital, she was in oxygen and the doctor assured us that she didn't realize any suffering. Mamma had her first stroke in her legs and feet, the day before she entered the nursing home. Three other strokes followed later.

Mr. and Mrs. Woods and family left Paducah in 1915 and made their home in Blytheville Ark; where Mamma was a member of the First Methodist Church for 17 years. Papa died in 1930 at the age of 57.

In 1932 Bob and I married and Mamma came back to Paducah to make her home with another daughter, Mrs. (Lena) Leroy Nichols.

During WWII she knitted for the soldiers through the Red Cross. Mamma lived with my sister, Lena 5 years and with us 13 years. She was a member of Fountain AVe. Methodist Church and active member of the WSCS for 18 years.

After leaving Paducah, KY in 1950, Mamma made her home with another daughter, Mrs. J.T. James in Weona and Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Mamma lived a full life and was in good health except for being blind the past 4 years, but was able to feed herself and with help able to go about the house, until time she entered the nursing home.

Funeral services wer held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, May 1st inWeona Methodist Church, where she was a member. Rev. Gerald Hammett officiated, the church choir sang. Burial was at Blytheville, ARk. in Maple Grove Cemetery beside Papa, the late James W. Woods.

Besides Mrs. James, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Robert Pierce of Paducah, KY; a son, Virgil Woods of Bakersville, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Mott of Corpus Christi, Tex. and Mrs. Ada Newton of Jackson, TN. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. She had 3 deceased children, a daughter, Lena, 2 infant sons, Franklin and Louis.

as told by her daughter, Catherine Pierce ( maybe Aunt Cat had this placed in the Paducah, KY paper)

Grandma Woods also has a marker at MapleLawn Cemetery in Paducah, KY next to Catharine and Robert Pierce.
