The discovery that the Y DNA of descendants of Nathan Ward of Prince George's Co., Maryland and Grayson Co., Virginia matches that of the descendants of Thomas Wells of Prince George's Co., Maryland has raised the question of an almost 300 year old "non-paternal event."

The information I've found on the Internet about Nathan Ward's father of record, James Ward, is a real mess.
