Francis M. Brookhart, 83, Died at Wyaconda Saturday
Francis M. Brookhart who was born in Scotland county near Granger on August 8, 1860, died at his home in Wyaconda Saturday, Nov. 6, at the age of 83 years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Cooney of Kahoka Monday morning the Wyaconda Baptist church. Special music was by a male quartette and Miss Lillie Baird, who sang a solo. Interment was in the Wyaconda cemetery. Pall bearers were nephews, Fred Brookhart, Ray Brookhart, Amba Brookhart, Frank Brookhart, Victor Brookhart and Alva Wells. On May 2-, 1887, he was married to Susan Lee Wells. They had six children. His wife died in 1939 and an infant son in 1884. He was the only one left of a family of nine children. The surviving children are Mrs. Rebecca Elizabeth Spindler, Mrs. Gertie Ann Knight and Orville Brookhart of Wyaconda, Virgil Brookhart and Mrs. Emily Mable Wells of Searcy, Ark., nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was a member of the Wyaconda Baptist church.
