, 63 years of age, passed away Monday, April 24, 2006 at his residence after a Short and Courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family. He was a native of Benavides residing in Hebbronville for many years. He was a graduate of Benavides High School Class of 1961. He attended St. Mary’s University and Graduated for Lipton School of Stenographer in Plainview Texas. He was a social worker for the State of Texas Human Resources.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Evangelina Carrillo.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years of marriage, Vilma C. Carrillo of Hebbronville, Texas; two sons, Oscar Carrillo II of Hebbronville, Texas and Victor Homero Carrillo of Hebbronville, Texas; two daughters, Renee Michelle (Noel) Reyes of Alice, Texas and Diana Lamar (Albert) Salazar of Hebbronville, Texas; two brothers, David Homero (Palmira) Carrillo of Benavides, Texas and Roberto (Teresa) Carrillo of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven sisters: Diana (Chaco) Flores of La Sejita Community, Ludy C. Benavides of Kingsville, Texas, Adriana (Stan) Terry of Benavides, Texas, Rebecca Carrillo of Benavides, Texas, Lynn (Kent) Kircher of Carrollton, Texas, Lucinda (Gilbert Gonzalez) Carrillo of Pleasanton, Texas, and Maria Theresa Carrillo of San Antonio, Texas; his mother-in-law, Consuelo Cantu of San Diego, Texas; one sister-in-law, Berta (Eddie) Longoria of San Diego, Texas; one brother-in-law, Ladislado (Melissa) Cantu of Alice, Texas, and seven grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 Mauro P. Garcia Chapel of Benavides with a Rosary recited at 7:30 P.M. that evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Hebbronville. The body will lie in State at the Church at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at the Benavides Cemetery in Benavides Texas with military honors by the Alice Burial association and the Benavides V.F.W. and American Legion.
