Hollis married first Ruth Margaret DICKE on 1 June 1946, at Grace Congregational Church, Two Rivers, Manitowoc Co., Wisconsin.
Both Hollis and Ruth were schoolteachers at Park Ridge, Illinois, and at Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they resided during Oct. 1957 [Obituary of her mother].
Hollis married second Alfreda Kathryn STALLMAN in 1978. Kathryn was a professor of Romance language at Carroll College at Waukesha for 40 years.

Hollis V. Schlueter, of 226 Greenfield Court, Waukesha, Wisconsin, died Thursday, June 14, at Virginia Nursing Home.
He had been a science teacher in elementary schools in Parkridge, Illinois and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Schlueter was married to the former Ruth Dicke, who preceded him in death in 1976. In 1979 he married the former Alfreda Stallman. He is survived by his wife, Alfreda; brothers, Glen A., Milford and Lloyd and a sister, Alda Tarnish.
Services were held Saturday, June 16 at the Salem United Methodist Church, Waukesha.
Burial was in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers, On June 18.
