Hockingport Native Dies
Clarence C. Wires, 59, died at Huntington Hospital, early Monday after a long illness.
A native of Hockingport, he spent most of his life around Little Hocking area.
The son of Albert and Isadore May Wires, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hazel McGrew, Athens, and Mrs. Sagila Owens, Hundred, W. Va.; two sons, Clarence A. Wires, Stewart, and Leroy Wires of Coolville; 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Dito of Veto, Mrs. Bessie Betts, Westerville and Mrs. Alberta Simmers of Barlow.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Spencer funeral home in Belpre.
The Rev. Howard Underwood will officiate. Interment will be in the Torch Cemetery.
