Aubrey Wayne Carruth, 84, of Colmesneil, Texas, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Southeast Texas Medical Center in Port Arthur, Texas.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, Texas. His eternal resting place will be at Colmesneil Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas.

Aubrey Wayne Carruth, was born September 21, 1932 to Aubrey Marcus Carruth and Jewel Bivens Carruth in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was a long time resident of Tyler County having come from Port Arthur, Texas. After serving in the United States Air Force as an In-Flight Engineer he worked as an Instrumentation Engineer at DuPont for 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Eva Mae Carruth, his parents, Aubrey and Jewel Carruth, son-in-law, Robert Ward, as well as nephews, Daron Marcus Knight and Dale Buchanon Knight.

He is survived by his sons, Mark Wayne Carruth & wife, Janine of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dennis Ray Carruth & wife, Kristi of Beaumont, California; daughters, Deborah Vise & husband, John of Houston, Texas, Pamela Short & husband, James of Dallas, Texas, Tina Ward of Port Neches, Texas, and Kathryn Comte & husband, Chuck of Midlothian, Texas; sister, Judith Carruth Harris of Lumberton, Texas; niece, Danell Knight Hughes; grandchildren, April Ward Varney, Kelli Miller, Dustin Miller, Rebecca Simmons, Elizabeth Rock, Justin Vise, Autumn Carruth, Ashley Ward Donahue, Kaleigh Ward Hebert, Austin Vise, Joey Byrns, Jessica Thomason, Lindsey Byrns, Courtney Short, Jarrod Comte, & Taryn Rodgers; 29 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pall bearers are Herman Netherland, John Vise, Mike Brannan, Justin Vise, Austin Vise, Adam Donahue, Adam Hebert, and Guy Varney.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
