Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. He was a dominant right handed pitcher and one of the five original greats first inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. In 1900, he was drafted by the National League New York Giants, pitched for 17 seasons with a career 2,502 strikeouts, 373 wins (fourth on the all-time list), 79 shutouts (third on the all-time list) and a 2.13 earned run average (fifth on the all-time list). His accomplishment of three shutout wins in the 1905 World Series has never been broken. He died of tuberculosis at age 45.
