KEARNEY — Alta “Connie” Osterbuhr, 91, of Upland died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Elizabeth House in Kearney.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth with the Revs. Patti and Steve Byrne officiating. Burial will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery south of Hildreth. Jelden-Craig Funeral Home in Hildreth
is in charge of the arrangements.

Alta (Connie) Osterbuhr was born in Sedgewickville, Mo., on Oct. 18, 1924. Her parents were Lester and Hazel (Seabaugh) Conrad. She was baptized at Sedgewickville Lutheran Church.

The family moved to Perryville, Mo., where she attended school and was confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. After graduating from Perryville High School in 1942, she attended nursing school at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis under the Cadet Nurse Program.

On April 7, 1945, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Osterbuhr at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. When World War II ended, Lawrence and Connie started farming on the family farm in 1946. They had one daughter by birth and one daughter by adoption.

Lawrence and Connie are members of Trinity Lutheran Church of Hildreth.

Connie’s activities included church groups, school activities, Hildreth Library Board, Pearl Harbor Survivors Group and Franklin County Historical Society and Museum. Her hobbies included gardening, crafts and making hiking sticks and walking canes from diamond willow.

Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 71 years and her daughter, Sandi Einspahr of Kearney. Grandchildren are Dawn Stubben and husband Todd of Creighton, Amy Dallman and husband Brad of Franklin, Dodi Craft and husband David of Oceanside, Calif., Del Einsphar and wife Angie of Elkhorn, Tina tenBensel and husband Troy of Arapahoe and Kara Adcock and husband Shane of Lincoln; brother, Willard Conrad and wife Delores of Perryville; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patti DeJonge.
