NEW BEDFORD – Claire C. (Sylvia) Costa of Taunton, died following a long illness at the Vibra Hospital in New Bedford on May 18, 2016.
She was 86.
She was married to the late Anibal “Bo” Costa for 58 years.
Born, raised, and educated in Taunton, She was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Pacheco) Sylvia.
Employed by Rand McNally, she retired in 1993.
She enjoyed spending time with family and her grandchildren and she adored her house where she lived until her later years.
Then she enjoyed her fellow residents and staff at The Arbors in Taunton, and was a life-long devout Catholic attending Holy Family Parish.
She is survived by two sons, Michael A. Costa and his wife Christine of Taunton, and Kenneth S. Costa and his wife Cindy of New Bedford; three sisters, Agnes Corey and Barbara Ouelette of East Taunton, and Theresa Sylvia of Somerset; six grandchildren, Michael Costa, Jr., Amanda DeSerres, Kevin Costa, Katelyn Costa, Stephen Costa, and Courtney Dos Santos; several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Leo Silvia.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday May 23rd at 9 a.m. followed by her funeral mass at Holy Family Church in East Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
