Manufacturer. He is credited with perfecting the mass-production of clocks so they became affordable and available to all. He worked first with Eli Terry and Silas Hoadley in 1807, then founded his own company in 1813. In 1875 the town of Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut, was officially renamed Thomaston in his honor. Seth Thomas Clocks are still produced today. The company made the well known Grand Central Station clock.
