Keller, Texas - FELIX CARL SPURGIN, 63, of Keller, Texas, loving son, brother, husband, father, friend, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 12, 2006.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lucas Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St., Keller. Burial will be in Bourland Cemetery in Keller.
Carl was born April 3, 1943, in Loco, Okla. After graduating from Velma High School, he joined the U. S. Air Force, specializing in electronic technology.
Carl began a career in marketing and sales support with several companies before settling down with EDS for the remainder of his career.
Carl met Lynn Alexander in 1967 and they were married in 1970. Carl not only gained a wife, but a ready-made family consisting of two daughters, Kathy and Janice, and two sons, Ernie and Eddy.
In 1972, Carl and family relocated to Hillsboro, Ore., where a son, Carl Alan, was born. In 1975, Carl moved his family to Texas.
Carl's love for fishing was exceeded only by his love and enjoyment of his nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother, Alice Spurgin of Fox, Okla.; his wife of 36 years, Lynn; a daughter, Kathy and her husband Jerry Stern; a son, Ernie Busby and his wife Deborah; a daughter, Janice and her husband Donny Awtry; a son, Eddy Spurgin and his wife Lynn; and a son, Carl Alan; sisters, Jessie Faye Pickelsimer and Vaughn Pickelsimer; grandchildren, Nikki, Jonas, Lanie, Kyle, Justin, Brandon, Kim, Jae Lauren and Caitlyn; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jake, Tyler, Blane and Savannah; and many nieces, nephews and loving, loyal friends. He will be missed greatly by all, including Rookie and Oscar.
Carl was preceded in death by his father, William Felix Spurgin.
