Mr. Theron Charles Babcock, 90, of Cresaptown, MD; died Wednesday at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mr. Babcock, born in King County,WA; was the son of the late Leon Amos Babcock and Alice Olive Fletcher Babcock. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Babcock and brothers, Vance and Douglas Babcock and a son, Christopher Leon Babcock.
He received his honorary doctorate in Music from Elkton Bible College and graduated from Practical Bible Training School in Binghamton, NY in 1950. He was ordained into the ministry in 1951. He traveled with the Hal Webb Evangelistic Association for 46 years as the music minister. During his life he wrote over 7000 songs and had several recordings. He was a very active minister in God's work.
He was a member of the Solid Rock Independent Baptist Church having mastered playing the organ with no prior training.
