Bob graduated from Cambridge Springs High School. He completed a five year apprentice with Local #333 in Erie. He retired in 1999 as a steamfitter with Local #449, Pittsburgh, PA
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Constellation from May 29, 1961 until he was Honorably Discharged to the United States Naval Reserve on May 18, 1965, having earned the rank of MM2 (E5) on June 25, 1964. Bob was a Life Member of the American Legion and the DAV. He was a 44 year member of the Cambridge American Legion, a Charter Member of the James D. Bowers VFW Post #169, Venango. Bob coached Little League Baseball, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a member of the Knight Rider Ski Club. He had served a number of years on the Venango Boro Council and had served on the Borough's Zoning Board. Bob loved fishing and his boat, where he spent a lot of time with his friends and family.
In addition to his wife of 34 years, Sharon Beck of Venango, Bob is survived by two sons: Bart Beck (Jill) of Edinboro, PA and Chad Perrin (Megan) of Lynden, WA; two daughters: Shawn Zangrilli of Conneautville and Rochelle Bell (Lonnie) of Daytona, FL. Ten grandchildren; Four great grandchildren; his sisters and brothers: Mildred Frontz (Leroy) of Cambridge Springs, James Beck (Ginger) of Cambridge Springs, Linda Hanson (Raymond) of Saegertown, Charles Beck (Janice) of Cambridge Springs, Janet Mascitti (Frank) of Meadville, William Beck (Christine Roberts) of Conneautville, Patrick Beck (Jill) of Cambridge Springs, and Diana Beck of Venango. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Joseph Beck.
