Mary Ella Giles was born in 1875 in Thomson Station, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Thomas B. Giles and Mercy Henney.
Mary came to Boston, Massachusetts in 1892 and married William J. Jones in 1899 in Brooklyn, New York where they raised their twin daughters.
Children (twins):
1- Helen Olive Jones (1903- ) married 1927 Fred Walther (1899- ).
2- Alice Mary Jones (1903- ) married 1934 Ulysses Senior Williams (1905-1978).
Grandchildren:
1- Amaryliss J. Williams (1937-2015) married 1955 George Davidson.
2- Thomas S. Williams married 1967 Meredith Jane Dillon (1942-2008).
For the 1940 census, Mary was living at 46 Hobart Street in Queens, New York with her 2 daughters, her son-in-law Ulysses, and her granddaughter Amaryliss.
Mary died in 1945 in Queens.
