The crossing of the Atlantic from Ireland probably occurred in late May and early June 1830 based on the details in daughter Sarah Radford's 1895 death record. The family arrived in Baltimore, Maryland during the summer of 1830.
The family of William Radford and Eleanor Ashworth had previously arrived from Ireland in 1819, and were living in Meigs County by the summer of 1819. The precise relationship of that family to the family of Frederick Radford and Ann Carleton is not known, but there are DNA matches at the estimated 4th-6th cousin level between 3 3G-grandchildren of William Radford and Eleanor Ashworth and a 3G-grandson and 4G-grandson of Frederick Radford and Ann Carleton. The parents of William Radford and Frederick Radford may have been James Radford and Sarah Hughes who married 27 Nov 1777 in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland. Note that Frederick and Ann named two of their children James and Sarah as did William and Eleanor.
Children:
1- Isaac Radford (1824-1879) married 1856 Bedelia Lovell (1829-1887).
2- James Radford (1827-1897) married 1848 Mary Ann Ashworth (1828-1912).
3- Sarah Radford (1830-1895).
4- John Radford (1832-1886) married 1861 Louisa Lois Jones (1839-1926).
5- Mary Ann Radford (1839-1908) married 1861 Thaddeus Jones (1839-1911).
6- Ellen Jane Radford (1841-1913) married 1877 John Rankin (1848-1932).
The 2 older children were born in Ireland. Sarah was born "on the Atlantic" in late May 1830, and the 3 younger children were born in Ohio.
