Obituary
Vaughn Eshelman passed away July 24, 2018 with his family by his side. Born at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia May 22, 1969, he lived in western Pennsylvania & Dayton, Ohio until his family moved to Houston in 1980. He excelled in school and became an elite soccer player and baseball player.

Vaughn pitched for Blinn College and the University of Houston and then in the Major Leagues with the Boston Red Sox. He had a successful 11-year professional baseball career, making many lifelong friends. Rather than taking opportunities to coach at the professional level he chose to stay at home in the Spring area with his family, looking forward to the challenges of the business world. He worked for Stanley, Black and Decker Tools and Fasteners as an area sales manager, enjoyed his job and the people he met and had great success.

Vaughn enjoyed fishing very much and spent many hours on his pontoon boat, mainly on Lake Conroe. He also enjoyed working with his sons and their various teams coaching at the Little League through High School levels. He coached the summer league teams for the high school for 8 years, He was always positive with the players and many continued to seek his advice after they had grown. He loved kids and they loved him for his honesty as well as ability to help them. He also enjoyed golf and played it very well when he had the chance.

He is survived by his wife of over 25 years, Julie (Menard) who was his high school sweetheart, sons Evan, 22 a Texas A&M senior, and Ryan, 19 a Blinn College sophomore. Both sons are excellent baseball players and had the advantage of Vaughn's coaching in baseball and life in general. He valued his time with his sons.

He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Janet Eshelman of Cypress, Texas, brothers Dain of Ocoee, Florida and Brian of Cypress, Texas.

He was also very close to Julie's mother, Helen Wettaw and Helen's husband, Richard Wettaw, Julie's father, Kermit Menard and his wife, Rhonda Menard.

Vaughn was preceded in death by his older brother and closest friend Kyle Eshelman.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, at 6:00 PM at the Klein Funeral Home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, Texas 77354.

In lieu of flowers please donate in Vaughn's memory to the charity of your choice and also, please become an organ donor.
