BISHOP B.T. TANNER
Bishop Benjamin T. Tanner, 87 years old, died yesterday at his home in Philadelphia. He was for many years one of the leaders of the negro race. Bishop Tanner was educated at Avery College, Pittsburgh, and was ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 1858. He was editor of the Christian Record for twenty-four years.
