Harry Madison Crumley was born in 1868 in Ohio, the son of Aaron Wilson Crumley and Sarah Hannah Stiers. By 1870, Harry (Henry in the census record), his parents, and 4 older siblings were living in Mount Pleasant, Cass County, Missouri.
Harry married Minnie M. Freeze 29 Feb 1896 in Howell County, Missouri.
By 1900, Harry was a widower living in Harrison, Boone County, Arkansas.
Harry married Ethel Estella Barney 16 Apr 1904 in Harrison, and they had 3 children.
Children:
1- Nora Belle Crumley Hawkes Lopez (1906-1983).
2- John Henry Crumley (1907-1984).
3- Frances Pearl Crumley Rowe (1910-1984).
Harry was a tinsmith and a farmer. The family was living in Coltman, Bonneville County, Idaho for the 1920 census enumeration. In the 1923 Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho city directory, Harry, Ethel, and Nora were living at 436 N. Main. By 1923, at least some of the family was living at 464½ E. Burnside in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon when Harry registered a motor vehicle. Daughter Nora listed her residence as Portland in 1924 when she married Golden W. Hawkes in Vancouver, Clarke County, Washington. Harry and Ethel probably divorced sometime in the early 1920s. By 1926, Harry was living in Los Angeles, California. Ethel married Robert V. Randall in 1927 in Dillon, Beaverhead, Montana. By 1930, son John was living in San Francisco, California. Harry died in 1931 in Los Angeles where his death certificate listed him, probably incorrectly, as a widower with Ethel Crumley as his widow.
