Many Here Attend J. H. Morrison Funeral
Many Baton Rougeons were included in the hundreds of people from this section of the state who attended the funeral yesterday morning of J. H. Morrison, district attorney for the 18th Judicial District who was found dead from a pistol wound Wednesday morning.
Funeral services took place at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Roads with Father John Hoes officiating. Interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Morrison, who was 54 years of age was a member of a family long prominent in Pointe Coupee Parish. He was a leading citizen of the West Side. He had been District Attorney for the past 20 years.
Mr. Morrison leaves his wife who was the former Miss Anita Oliver of New Orleans, three sons, J. H. Jr. of New Orleans, Benjamin, and DeLesseps Morrison, students at Louisiana State University, a daughter, Mrs. J. W. Seibert of Pointe Coupee, a brother, W. C. Morrison of Pointe Coupee and other relatives.
