Henry S. Rupp was son of Reverend George Rupp (1798-1888) and Elizabeth Zimmerman (1798-1882).
Henry had a large nursery of plants and trees in Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania. A sketch of his farm is shown in the 1858 Atlas map of Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and across the road is the Cumberland Nursery and office.
Minnie A. Rupp, his daughter wrote: "My father was a nursery man and florist. I helped in the greenhouses busy seasons and I enjoyed the flowers and the work, my brother, and his son now carry on the business."
