Michael Osterbuhr, 65, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Michael John Osterbuhr was born on December 7, 1954 to and Louise (Nice) Osterbuhr, in Lamars Iowa. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. He obtained his Bachelor's degree at Morning Side College in Souix City Iowa and his Masters Degree in San Antonio, Texas.

His compassion in life was caring about others and this showed in the career path he chose as a clinical psychologist. His work with juvenile delinquents early in his career, and at then at Florida State Hospital during the later part of his career, where his entire focus was assisting mentally challenged individuals for the betterment of his patients, and for the community. There is no doubt that Mr. Osterbuhr helped countless people throughout his lifetime of work.

Mr. Osterbuhr is survived by his five children, Michael John Osterbuhr, Jr., John Osterbuhr, James Osterbuhr, Ryan Osterbuhr, and Mikaela Comparetto, as well as his eleven (soon to be twelve) grandchildren.

A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors will be held at the Tallahassee National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
Masks must be worn and guests will stand and spread out, in compliance with social distancing. Attendance is limited to no more than 40 individuals, beyond the family in attendance.

The family is being assisted by Skip Young and cared for by Jackie Fulford, of Young~Fulford Funeral Home and Crematory.
