Composer, arranger, and concert pianist. Pattison stu­died with Liszt, von Bu­low, and oth­ers, and was well known for his performances and compositions. He was a versatile composer whose works ranged from the "Niagara Symphony" to dozens of polkas, walzes, and ma­zur­kas. He is also known as the composer of the hymns, "Guide Me Oh Thou Great Jehovah" and "I Have a Home Above". In 1881, he was ap­point­ed or­gan­ist at St. Fra­ncis Xa­vier Ca­tho­lic Church in New York.

Son of Jesse Pattison and Zelia Diana Wright. Married first, ______, Sep 1865 in Pennsylvania (div.). Married second, Adelaide Mangan, 21 Oct 1869, in New York, New York (sep. 1872, div. c. 1878).
