Bashe was a Holocaust survivor together with my father, Mendl. She was in Auschwitz-Birkenau in the Kanada division, later on the March of the Death to Ravensbruck, where she was liberated by the Russians. After the war, Bashe and my dad were in Linz, Austria and Bad Ishel, where she met her future husband, Mendek Zimmer -they got married in August 1947 and all immigrated to Montevideo, Uruguay in 1948. In 1975, Bashe and Mendek immigrated to Israel. They had two children; Julia and David Zimmer.
