Lewis Johnson was born about 1785, probably in Wilkes County, North Carolina. He married Rissy Wood in 1807 in Wilkes County. He probably died in Wilkes County about 1852 when he wrote his will. He may be buried in the Old Johnson Family Cemetery in Hays, Wilkes County, but no burial marker in that cemetery for Lewis has been found.
