Rissy Wood was born about 1785, probably in Wilkes County, North Carolina. She married Lewis Johnson in 1807 in Wilkes County. The last reference for Rissy is the 1870 Rock Creek Township, Wilkes County census enumeration, so she probably died sometime between 1870 and 1880. She may be buried in the Old Johnson Family Cemetery in Hays, Wilkes County, but no burial marker in that cemetery for Rissy has been found.
