Sarah Rebecca Porter was born about 1826, probably in Wilkes County, North Carolina. She probably died in Wilkes County between 1857 when her last child was born and 1859. Jesse remarried in 1860. She may be buried in the Old Johnson Family Cemetery in Hays, Wilkes County, but no burial marker in that cemetery for Sarah has been found.

2- Joseph L. Johnson (1851-c.1905).
3- John Louis Johnson (1854-1922).
4- William Franklin Johnson (1857-1907).
