Grete G. Bailey, 88, a resident of Severna Park, died of natural causes Sept. 27 at Crofton Convalescent Center.
She was born June 1, 1921, in Delmenhorst, Germany, where she was raised. Her past residences include Hyattsville and Shady Side.
Mrs. Bailey was a home-maker, enjoyed baking and cooking, and was a wonderful seamstress. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Riverdale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Bailey, who died in 1992; and her brother, Fredo Egbers.
Survivors include a son, Karl Robert Bailey of Severna Park; a daughter, Martha A. Bailey of Severna Park; and two grandchildren, Linda M. Eversfield of West River and Thomas J. Eversfield Jr. of Dunkirk.
Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Highway. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Washington National Cemetery in Suitland.
