Dieter Wilhelm Frick , 70, of Skaneateles, died suddenly December 20, 2007. He was born in Berlin, Germany, received his two engineering degrees in Munich and, after an international career, came to America to start the American subsidiary of the German conglomerate, Krauss-Maffei. In 1973 he co- founded Tessy Plastics and subsequently founded Reva Plastics Corporation.

Dieter was a passionate family man and enthusiastic traveler, and he combined his great love for the outdoors with steady athletic pursuits like mountain biking, hiking and cross country skiing at his beloved Adirondack camp.

He also had an unbounded interest in foreign cultures, current affairs, art and history.

Dieter blended a lifelong interest in the sciences with a deep religious faith.

He will be enormously missed by his wife of 39 years, Helga; daughter Sonja Casey and her husband, Paul; son, Markus; daughter Erika; and son, Tillman. He was a devoted grandfather of Alexandra, Spencer and Trevor Casey. He also leaves behind his sister, Renate Guenthert; nephew, Daniel Guenthert and family; and brother-in-law, Reinhard Blume and family.

A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's of the Lake Church, Skaneateles. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Skaneateles.
