D.L. Anderson, 81, of Independence, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Independence.

He was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Grant to the late Lee A. and Vergie Hash Anderson.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Delp Anderson of the home; a son and spouse, Larry D. and Pam Anderson of Greensboro, N.C.; a daughter and spouse, Joyce L. and Jerry Cox of Independence; two sisters and a spouse, Kaye and Fred Welborn of Independence, and Lucy Wright of Maynardsville, Tenn.; two granddaughters and spouses, Kristie and Roger Bare of Summerfield, N.C., and Nicole and Paul Roumillat of High Point, N.C.; and five great-grandchildren, Alexandra Berg and Landon Berg, both of Summerfield, N.C., Kristen Frankena and Emily Roumillat, both of High Point, N.C., and Megan Sewell of Greensboro, N.C.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted Monday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at Independence Cemetery, Independence, with the Rev. Jeff Harris officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Grayson County VFW Post 7726.
