"Elizabeth Henney (1850-1917), wife of Loma post master Nathaniel Henney, is one of eleven burials in the Sunset Valley cemetery north of the Narrows in Harney County, Oregon.
Her obituary states, "Mrs. Henney came to Harney Valley about 11 years ago with her husband, settling in the Sunset valley where she has since resided. Her cheerful disposition endeared her to all who came in contact with her. She was ever ready and willing to make any self-sacrifice that would add to the comfort of her friends or guests, never too weary to prepare a nice meal for the tired traveler, be he stranger or acquaintance. Through her many acts of kindness she earned the title she bore, "The Mother of Sunset Valley." Funeral services were held at the Sunset school house. She was buried beside her brother-in-law and a grandson in Sunset cemetery."
