Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was an infielder and outfielder, making his debut for the New York Giants on April 15, 1924. For thirteen seasons, he played with the New York Giants (1924-32), Pittsburgh Pirates (1933-34), Chicago Cubs 91935) and Brooklyn Dodgers (1936). He became the first National League player in the 20th Century to garner nine hits in a doubleheader and also was the first youngest player to appear in a post season game. Lindstrom had seven seasons with a .300 batting average or better, had two seasons with 231 hits and led the National League in fielding percentage three times. He concluded his career with a record of 895 runs scored, 1747 hits, 103 home runs, 779 runs batted in, .311 batting average and a .965 fielding percentage. In 1976, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Veteran‘s Committee. He died at age 75 in Chicago, Illinois.
