Death Takes Hans Rhoda
Retired Porter County Farmer Stricken Wed.
Hans Carl Rhoda, 49, of 757 W. Chicago Street, died in Porter Memorial Hospital at 6:15 p.m. Thursday. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage with which he was stricken Wednesday.
The decedent was born Feb. 16, 1899, in Valparaiso the son of William Rhoda and Augusta (Affeld) Rhoda. All his life was spent in Porter County. For many years he was engaged in farming until ill health forced him to retire. In April, 1944, he moved to Valparaiso.
He was united in marriage Nov. 28, 1917, to Edna Lucille Lane, who survives together with two sons, Kenneth C. Rhoda and Robert L. Rhoda; a sister, Mrs. Roy Corsbie and a brother, James Rhoda. Five brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the LePell Funeral Home on Monroe Street, with the Rev. Roy Badger, of the Liberty Township Church, officiating.
Friends may call at the LePell Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Saturday and until time of services Sunday.

Memorial services for Hans C. Rhoda, who died Thursday night in Porter Memorial Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the LePell Funeral Home on Monroe Street, with the Rev. George L. Badger officiating.
Pallbearers were Ted Zieba, Bryan Solday, Edward Coach, Al Hamilton, Jack Whitten and Henry Jensen. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.
