Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. Born in Bedford, Ohio, he was known as "The Bedford Sheriff" and is recognized as one of the greatest all around performers of the "Dead Ball" Era. As a right fielder, he played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Indians from 1898 to 1910. He had a .315 lifetime batting average, 1,755 hits, 164 triples, 756 runs batted in and stole 330 bases in 13 major league seasons. After his retirement he was a scout for the Indians. Flick was elected to the Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee in 1963.
