Morton, IL - Alfred F. Viktor, 81, of Morton died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

He was born July 7, 1927, in Pocahontas, Iowa, to Frank J. and Mae (Stoulil) Viktor. He married Eunice Dahm on Sept. 7, 1945, in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Surviving are his wife, Eunice Viktor of Morton; three sons, Cary Viktor of Orlando, Fla., Kurtis (Theresa) Viktor of Mackinaw and Kevin Viktor of Queen Creek, Ariz.; one daughter, Marla Ann (Steven) Lacy of Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Albert "Bert" (Charlotte) Viktor of Pocahontas, Iowa; and one sister, Henrietta Deal of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by one grandson and his parents.

He was a World War II Navy veteran.

He was a 1949 graduate of the Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Science in Des Moines, Iowa. He was awarded the Alumni Achievement Award in 2004.

A registered pharmacist, Alfred co-owned and operated Our X Drugs in Morton. He later owned and operated the Morton Medical Center Pharmacy from 1980 until his retirement in 1994.

After his retirement, he volunteered at Heartland Community Health Clinic in Peoria, where he received the Volunteer of the Year award in 1996.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, Fr. John Raho Council 4194, both in Morton. Alfred was an avid bowler and fisherman.
