A. G. HASH 1876--1912.
Tragedy sometimes comes to the lives of our most faithful and outstanding ministers of the Gospel as well as to others. Brother Hash was taken seriously ill at his home in Fort Gaines and was rushed to a hospital in Atlanta where he died immediately after arriving there on 4 Mar 1912, at the age of 36 years. The news of his death came as a shock to this whole section.
Brother Hash was born in Grayson County, Virginia and was ordained as a minister by Pine Branch Church of Grayson County on 17 Jul 1898. He married Miss Leola Paullin of Fort Gaines, Georgia on 17 Apr 1907. To them one daughter was born, Rebecca. He served the Fort Gaines Baptist Church for several years and was its beloved pastor at the time of his death. He died respected and loved by a host of warm and devoted friends.
In every walk of life Brother Hash proved himself to be a man of great ability, untiring energy and unbounded zeal. In the church, in the community, and in the family circle he was missed. But the memory of his good deeds, his noble aspirations, his splendid work for humanity and his blameless life will live and bear rich fruit, and coming generations will rise up and call him blessed.
