New Richland Star, Feb 16 1923

Mrs. John E. Jeddeloh passed away at the home of her son, Wm. Jeddeloh, at Waldorf on Friday, February 9th at 12:20 p.m. Death was due to a general decline brought on by her advanced years.
Helena Barbara Ehlers was born on October 16, 1838, at Oldenburg, Germany, and at the time of her death was 84 years 3months and 24 days old. She grew to womanhood in her native land and on March 19,1863, she was united in marriage to John E. Jeddeloh. After they had been married
five years they immigrated to America and settled in Clayton County, Iowa July 16, 1868. Three years later they came to Minnesota and settled first in Woodville Township of this county. In 1876 they moved to the homestead
in Vivian Township on the 28th of October.
The Lord blessed their happy home with nine children, five boys and four girls. All are living to survive their mother. They are J.B. Jeddeloh of Vivian: Lena Betz of St. Paul; Anna Steirnagle of Vivian; H.F. and Fred Jeddeloh of New Richland; Herman Jeddeloh of Ogilvie, Minn.; Katy Fritschie, Brunswick, Minn.; and Wm. Jeddeloh of Waldorf. The Mother has lived to see the family tree grow to proportions, branch by branch, and twig by twig, until today there are nine children, 52 grand children, 14 great grand children, four son- in -laws and five daughter-in -laws.
Death first entered the home on October 1st 1909, when the father passed away. Since then the mother has been cared for at the home of her son Wm.
Jeddeloh at Waldorf.
She was a kind and loving mother and had a large circle of friends among both young and old.
Funeral services were conducted from the home at Waldorf at 1:00 o'clock
Monday and from the Waldorf church at 2:00 O'clock. Interment was made at the Waldorf cemetery, Rev. Miller of Freedon preaching the funeral service.
